  3. This is a simple application that just puts a GUI on top of the command:

  5. /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background

  7. Unfortunately this command no longer works in 10.3 "Panter"- so you are out of luck there if you are running it.

  9. However there are other applications out there that can do this, one of which is "BackLight" which is distributed as freeware from http://freshlysqueezedsoftware.com/ .  Make sure to check it out if you are running something other than 10.2
